A community group behind the Great Knaresborough Bed Race have launched a community fund to support the town’s organisations.
Knaresborough Lions Club has launched a one-off fund to support organisations in Knaresborough, surrounding villages and the wider Nidderdale area.
Called the ‘Lions Community Fund’, it is designed to support local initiatives in the district.
Under the terms of the Community Fund, applications are invited for small grants for one-off projects.
Knaresborough Lions Welfare Chair, Pam Godsell, said:
“We have staged Community Funds in the past with great success and are delighted to be able to offer this opportunity again this year.
“We welcome applications from any local groups involved in providing services in their community.
“Organisations are invited to apply to the Fund for donations for worthwhile causes.”
Applications will not be considered for core funding in the form of staff salaries and will be considered only from properly constituted organisations rather than from individuals.
Individuals and families seeking assistance can contact the Knaresborough Lions in the usual way.
Details of the Fund and a downloadable application form are available on the Lions website: www.knaresboroughlions.org.
Enquiries can be made to KLionsCommunity@hotmail.com and completed applications should be sent to this same email.
The deadline for applications is 30 November 2024 and the Lions will respond during January 2025.
