An artisan market planned for Fountains Abbey tomorrow (Saturday) has been partially cancelled due to forecast bad weather, the National Trust has confirmed.
The Little Bird Artisan Market was scheduled to take place at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th November, offering around 40 stalls of handmade gifts, local produce and festive items.
However, organisers announced that Saturday’s market has been cancelled because of expected poor weather conditions.
Sunday’s event will go ahead as planned.
A spokesperson for Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal said:
“The market on Saturday is cancelled because of forecast weather.
"Sunday will be going ahead as scheduled so we’ll see you then!”
Visitors attending on Sunday can still enjoy the festive market atmosphere, as well as live choir performances in the Abbey ruins from 2pm to 3pm and the popular floodlit illuminations around the site.
The National Trust’s gift shop will also remain open, offering additional Christmas shopping opportunities.
More information about the event and site updates is available via the Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal channels.
