A Harrogate resident was taken to hospital on Friday evening (3rd October) following a fire at their home.
Fire crews were called to Yarrow Drive after a fire broke out in the kitchen of a property at around 5:10pm.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said it had been caused by an air fryer being left on a cooker.
The service said the resident “sustained some smoke inhalation” and went to hospital for “further checks”.
A spokesperson said:
“Crews entered wearing breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire with a hose reel jet. All occupants were out prior to their arrival.
“The cooking appliance was removed and the property naturally ventilated after the fire was extinguished and gas isolated.”
