A teacher at Western Primary School was subjected to a special surprise as part of our latest competition with Harrogate BID.
Mrs Jay Galton, the school’s pre-school teacher, was surprised by Your Harrogate's Nick Hancock as the second winner of our 'Treat your Teacher' competition.
We asked parents, guardians and pupils to nominate the teacher or teaching assistant they believe deserves a special 'thank you' for their efforts his academic year.
And Jay Galton has received a £50 Harrogate BID Gift Card, which can be spent at over 100 shops around Harrogate town centre.
In an emotional interview, she told Nick Hancock:
“This feels amazing, thank you. The kids in my class are just phenomenal.
“They’re a pleasure everyday.”
