The Fat Badger in Harrogate has been named the best pub in Yorkshire at the National Pub & Bar Awards in London.

The awards were held last night (Wednesday) on Euston Square and The Fat Badger were invited along as a finalist after scooping the regional award for North Yorkshire. And of the five shortlisted for Yorkshire and the Humber, The Fat Badger has been named the winner and the 'Pub and Bar of the Year' for the region. [caption id="attachment_68800" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] The Fat Badger on Cold Bath Road in Harrogate.[/caption] Simon Cotton, Managing Director of the HRH Group, attended the awards on behalf of the team. Following the victory, he tweeted:

"OMG! We only went and won the regional award for all of Yorkshire and the Humber at the Pub and Bar Awards! "I'm here on behalf of the team that earned it. Thank you guys, and thank you to our customers for your continued support."

"We were overwhelmed by the level and quality of entries this year. “It just goes to show what magnificent work is going on across the UK hospitality sector. With outrageous energy costs, recruitment shortages and a punishing taxation system, these businesses are once again facing tough times. “Now, more than ever, it’s vital that people support their local pubs and bars."
