A new study has revealed Leeds Bradford Airport is among the airports most likely to cancel flights this summer.
Research has been conducted by Online casino comparison site Casino Alpha, looking at which UK airports had the highest rate of flight cancellations last year.
Airports with 10,000 or more arranged flights during the year with the highest percentage of cancellations determined the ranking, based on data from UK Civil Aviation Authority.
And Leeds Bradford came in with the fifth highest rate of flight cancellations at 3.6%.
Out of a total of 28,397 flights, 879 were cancelled and an additional 32.96% arrived at their destination up to 15 minutes late.
Leeds Bradford ranked only below Aberdeen (4.39%), London City Airport (4.04%), George Best Belfast City Airport (3.6%) and Southampton (3.15%).
A spokesperson for Casino Alpha said:
“Nobody wants to arrive at the airport to learn their flight has been cancelled, but sometimes unforeseen circumstances mean travel plans can’t go ahead.
"It’s clear from the data that all UK airports experience a huge lack of punctuality even when flights go ahead as scheduled.”
East Midlands International Airport had the lowest percentage of cancelled flights, at 0.44%.
