A search is underway for a dog reported missing in the Harrogate area after she was spooked by a loud noise earlier today (Monday).
Daisy went missing at around 11am from the Bilton Hall Drive area of Starbeck, close to Nidd Gorge and Knaresborough Forest Park.
It is understood she ran off after being startled by a loud bang.
The dog is microchipped and spayed, and was last seen wearing a red harness.
Those involved in the search say Daisy ran in a state of flight and is likely to be anxious.
As she is believed to be near her home area, there is a possibility she may try to make her own way back.
Members of the public are being asked not to chase or approach Daisy if they see her, unless she appears to be in immediate danger, as this could cause her to run further. Instead, sightings should be reported by phone with the location, time and direction of travel.
