Harrogate's Rachel Daly has been named the PFA Players' Player of the Year following a stellar season with Aston Villa Women.
Rachel Daly wins PFA Players' Player of the Year award Harrogate's Rachel Daly has been named the PFA Players' Player of the Year. The Aston Villa and England star scooped the top honour at the PFA Awards in Salford last night (Tuesday). Rachel was one of six shortlisted for the award following a stellar season in which she won the WSL golden boot with 22 goals. Following the news, she tweeted:
"Wow, what an honour to have won this award. Feeling beyond grateful."Rachel featured heavily for the Lionesses during the Word Cup campaign in which they reached the final before their eventual defeat to Spain. She scored her first ever World Cup goal in England's 6-1 thrashing of China. Chelsea’s Lauren James was named Young Player of the Year whilst Manchester City's Erling Haaland and Arsenal's Bukayo Saka won the men's Player's Player of the Year and PFA Young Player of the Year respectively.
