Tom Gordon, Liberal Democrat MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough, is set to run the Great North Run next month to raise funds for Saint Michael’s Hospice.
It will be his third consecutive year taking part in the half-marathon on behalf of the hospice, which provides care for people living with terminal illness and support for their families across the Harrogate district.
Saint Michael’s Hospice is part of North Yorkshire Hospice Care, an independent charity that also includes Herriot Hospice Homecare and the bereavement support service, Just ‘B’.
Last year, Mr Gordon met with the charity’s chief executive, Tony Collins, to discuss its work and the impact it has on local families.
Mr Gordon said:
“This will be my third year running the Great North Run for St Michael’s, and each year I am reminded of just how important their work is."The hospice provides comfort, dignity, and care when it’s needed most, making a real difference to the lives of local people and their families.”
Donations to support the fundraising effort can be made online via Mr Gordon’s JustGiving page: justgiving.com/page/tom-gordon-2025.
