A young member of St John Ambulance from Knaresborough has been recognised with a top youth award.
Stella Dennis, who is in Year 5 and attends the Starbeck and Knaresborough St John Ambulance Badger group, was awarded Badger of the Year after competing against other Badgers from across the region.
As part of the competition, participants were asked to give a short talk on a hobby of their choice and answer questions from judges.
Stella spoke about roller-skating, explaining the skills involved and responding to questions during the judging process.
St John Ambulance runs several youth units locally, offering young people the chance to learn first aid, teamwork and confidence-building skills.
The organisation has said it is currently seeking more adult volunteers to support its youth programmes across the region.
