A Harrogate toy fair to support struggling families at Christmas has been hailed as a "huge success."
Organised by Harrogate woman Dr Melissa Bouchard, the event saw various toys and games donated and given to families in need for free.
The ‘Harrogate Gives for Christmas’ fair was held at Jennyfields Styan Community Centre yesterday (Sunday).
Speaking to Your Harrogate, Melissa said:
“The event was a huge success - people walked into the hall and so many were overwhelmed by the generosity of the community.
“They couldn’t believe that it was all free and we had a lot of happy tears.
“It was a wonderful afternoon.”

The leftover toys and games, of which filled four cars, have been donated to Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity to be given to children who will spend their Christmas in hospital.
Melissa added:
“We’d like to thank the community for their generous donations, it was incredible.
“A little girl came in with her mum and said “It’s magic like Christmas!””
