Children's boutique and art gallery opens in Knaresborough

Melani Darcy, owner of Lullaby Lane Children's Boutique in Knaresborough.

A new children's boutique with an in-store art gallery has opened on Knaresborough High Street.

Lullaby Lane Children’s Boutique, at 80 High Street, sells clothing, toys, gifts and accessories for babies and children up to eight years old.

Its gallery features original artwork inspired by childhood, storybook characters and Knaresborough landmarks, including pieces designed for nurseries and children’s bedrooms.

Owner Melani Darcy said opening the shop had been an emotional moment after challenges and delays:

“Finally opening the doors to Lullaby Lane has been quite emotional. There have been challenges and delays along the way, so seeing customers walk through the door and hearing their lovely comments has made everything worthwhile.

“One of the loveliest moments was seeing a little face peering through the window and trying to pull mummy back towards the shop.”

Melani said she wanted to create a place children would be excited to visit while offering parents and grandparents something special.

She said:

“The gallery gives me the opportunity to create imaginative pieces that children can grow up with, including artwork inspired by Knaresborough itself."

The boutique will also exhibit at the Harrogate Baby & Toddler Show at Harrogate Pavilion on 3rd October.
