Harrogate Theatre is celebrating 126 years since it first opened its doors.
The theatre opened in 1900 and has since hosted a wide range of productions, including drama, comedy, music and family performances, welcoming generations of audiences through its doors. Over more than a century, it has adapted to changing times while remaining a central part of the cultural life of Harrogate. Originally built at the turn of the 20th century, the venue is one of the oldest theatres in continuous use in the country. It has undergone various refurbishments and restorations over the years to preserve its historic character while meeting the needs of modern audiences and performers. A Harrogate Theatre spokesperson said: "Since opening in 1900, Harrogate Theatre has been at the heart of our town, sharing thousands of unforgettable performances. "It's a special thanks to you for all your support and being part of our story. Here's to another 126 years!"
