Harrogate Town fan favourite leaves club for significant fee
Harrogate Town's Kayne Ramsay has completed a permanent transfer to League One side Charlton for a significant undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old joined Town on a free transfer in the summer of 2023 and has been an integral part to the club’s backline over the last 18 months.
His only goal for the club came in our dramatic Boxing Day victory over Grimsby in 2022.
Speaking on the transfer, Simon Weaver said:
Harrogate Town were busy on transfer deadline day yesterday (Thursday). The club confirmed the loan signings of attacker Tom Bloxham from Championship side Blackburn Rovers and 20-year-old Southampton right back Derrick Abu. Winger James Daly joined National League promotion contenders Aldershot on a loan deal until the end of the season. He will be a huge loss.
"This was an opportunity which Kayne didn't want to see pass him by and we can understand that. However, it had to be a significant fee for us to even consider allowing someone of his quality to leave.
"You never want to lose one of your best players. However, I believe in the group and the recruitment work we have completed to this point. This transfer gives us another selling point of this football club moving forward."
