Harrogate Town add two new faces

Aiden Marsh (left) and Emmerson Sutton (Right) boost Town numbers

Ahead of their league two clash with Gillingham this weekend (Saturday 24th January), Harrogate Town have announced two new signings.

Earlier this afternoon (Friday 23rd January), the club revealed Aiden Marsh on a permanent deal until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old forward has been training with the club for the past few weeks after his contract at Truro City expired in January.

Speaking about the move, manager Simon Weaver said:

“He's got finishing ability, his first touch is excellent, he's got an awareness about him that is higher level and we love his character, love his personality both on and off the pitch and we think he can add a lot.”

“He’s someone who's been brought up to work hard and graft, a typical down to earth Barnsley lad and exactly what you want in the building.”

“He's scored some very good goals in his career to date, has represented Barnsley at a young age, has a great left foot and backs himself.”

Born in Barnsley, Aiden came through the ranks at his hometown club being named Academy Player of the Year in 2023/24.

Marsh had signed his first professional contract in September 2020 before making his debut in January 2022 and accumulating 36 appearances across the Championship and League One for The Tykes.

The club’s newest arrival enjoyed loan spells at Scunthorpe, York and Raith Rovers before joining Truro at the start of the 2025/26 season upon the expiry of his contract at Oakwell.

Marsh will wear the number 37 shirt at Town and is available for this weekend’s clash with Gillingham, subject to FA and EFL approval.

Town have also confirmed the signing of Emmerson Sutton on loan from Queens Park Rangers until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old winger came through the ranks at QPR, signing his first professional contract in January 2025 and making his professional debut just a few months later.

Sutton has also experienced first team football on loan at Hanwell Town and most recently Morecambe, where he made 16 appearances for The Shrimps.

Simon Weaver has been impressed with Emmerson's attitude:

“He has a real appetite to succeed and learn the game, he's already made his debut for QPR, which says a lot at such a young age.”

“He wants to develop and I'm sure he will do with minutes under his belt at this level. He's fast, he's direct and we want him to enjoy his football here.

“We wanted to boost the squad and have a pacey outlet, that can pin teams back and we’re really excited about what he can bring.”

Sutton will wear the number 23 shirt at Town and is available for the natch with Gillingham, subject to FA and EFL approval.
