Spice Culture on Cheltenham Crescent in Harrogate.

A popular Indian restaurant in Harrogate has been named as a finalist ahead of the 14th English Curry Awards 2025.

Spice Culture on Cheltenham Crescent is representing the town in the Yorkshire and the Humber category and is among several northern eateries recognised for excellence in the English curry industry.

The restaurant offers a contemporary take on traditional Indian cuisine, serving a mix of curries, tandoori dishes and street food.

Founded by Chef Vijay Singh Rawat, Chef Narayan Basnet (both pictured) and Amit Singh, Spice Culture combines over 50 years of international culinary experience, including backgrounds in India, Dubai and the UK.

It opened in Harrogate in January 2024.

Organised by Oceanic Awards, the English Curry Awards celebrate outstanding contributions to the curry sector across England.

A spokesperson for the awards said:

“These Awards promise to be a memorable event that honours the dedication and hard work of the nominees and celebrates the rich tapestry of flavours that the curry industry brings to the English culinary landscape.

“The Awards provide a platform to applaud the exceptional efforts of those who have made significant contributions to the curry sector and continue to elevate the nation’s love for curry.

"We would like to congratulate all of our finalists and wish them all the best of luck.”

The winners of the 2025 English Curry Awards will be announced at a ceremony in Birmingham on Monday (11th August).
