A Harrogate resident is preparing to trek 100km across the Sahara Desert this November as part of an epic fundraising challenge.
James Marrero-Allen will be raising money for CoppaFeel!, a UK charity focused on the early detection of breast cancer.
James will take on the challenge over five days, facing high temperatures and tough terrain. He will join a group of other fundraisers led by Giovanni Fletcher and other celebrity captains.
Although he has not been directly affected by breast cancer, James said he has friends and acquaintances who have faced various forms of cancer.

He told Your Harrogate:
“The Sahara Trek is about pushing myself to the limit for a cause that matters deeply.
“It’s about standing with everyone fighting cancer, helping to spread life-saving awareness, and showing that together we can make a difference.”
Speaking about the charity, he said:
“CoppaFeel! is on a mission to encourage everyone to check their chests regularly — because early detection saves lives.
“And it’s not just about women, men can get breast cancer too.
“Every blister, every step, will be worth it if it inspires just one more person to take action.
“If you can support in any way, it would be hugely appreciated and it goes long way in the fight against cancer.”
Donations to James’ fundraising campaign can be made via his JustGiving page here.
