An art gallery on James Street in Harrogate has announced it will be closing its doors.
Lucy Pittaway shared the “difficult news” via social media that the gallery has been affected by ‘rising operational costs,’ including a “significant” increase in rent.

Her gallery in Bowness in Windermere will also close.
Lucy said:
“Our priority right now is supporting the wonderful colleagues affected as we work through the consultation process.
“I am so grateful for their hard work and dedication, and for the support our customers have shown these galleries over the years. It truly means the world.”
Lucy Pittaway galleries in Richmond, Yarm, York, Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Keswick, as well as its Brompton-on-Swale Outlet, will remain open as usual.
Its website will also continue to trade normally.
In the coming weeks, both closing galleries will hold closing down sales, with 30% off all stock.
