Both Harrogate and Ripon have been included on a list of the UK's best places to raise a family.
The Daily Mail has reviewed data and statistics provided by property experts, including crime rates, schools and local amenities.
And both Harrogate and Ripon have been named alongside the likes of York, Cambridge and St Albans as some of the best places for children to grow up in.
Speaking about Harrogate, The Daily Mail said:
“Known for its beautiful historic buildings, lush gardens, and natural springs, Harrogate is also very family friendly thanks to good schools and the fact it was named the safest place in the UK to raise children, according to research comparing 200 major UK cities and towns.”
The article also highlights Western Primary School and Harrogate Grammar School, which have been rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.
The average house price is cited at £404,553.
Of Ripon, the Daily Mail said:
“Nestled between the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors, this tiny cathedral city consistently ranks as one of the UK's top ten safest cities.
“The city has a wealth of highly regarded primary and secondary schools, including Ripon Grammar School and Outwood Academy Ripon, which is rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.”
The average house price is cited at £333,130.
York is the only other place in Yorkshire that is mentioned.
