Boroughbridge dancers qualify for Dance World Cup

Nola, Florence and Eliza of Generation Dance.

Three young dancers from Boroughbridge have qualified for the Dance World Cup 2026 after months of training and competition success.

Nola, Florence and Eliza, who train at Generation Dance, secured their place at the international finals with their trio showstopper routine, One Way or Another.

The qualification follows a highly competitive process, with more than 9,500 entries submitted from across the UK.

The trio are set to represent Team England at the Dance World Cup finals, which will be held in Dublin in July.

The event brings together dancers from up to 70 countries and is regarded as one of the largest and most prestigious competitions of its kind.

Preparation for the competition will continue over the coming year, with ongoing training and rehearsals planned.

A spokesperson for Generation Dance said:

“Never in a million years would I think that our school being open only 6 years would be able to achieve something so incredible!

“Girls I am so proud of you and I cannot wait to be there with you in July representing Team England and seeing you perform on the World Cup stage, being broadcast live.”

Participation in the Dance World Cup is entirely self-funded, with costs including travel, accommodation, entry fees, uniforms and training.

To help meet these expenses, the dancers and their families are seeking support from the community through sponsorship, donations and fundraising events.

Several fundraising activities are planned in the coming months, including an Easter raffle, a quiz night on 6th March at Minskip Village Hall, and a K-pop dance class and disco on 26th April at Coronation Hall in Boroughbridge.

Sponsorship packages are available for businesses or individuals wishing to support the dancers.

All sponsors will be acknowledged as part of the dancers’ journey to the Dance World Cup.

Donations are also welcomed from those unable to sponsor but keen to support the team’s efforts.
