Knaresborough Town Council has unveiled a new illustrated town map, created by local artist Helen Salmons.
The double-sided A3 leaflet includes a functional map of the town centre, alongside a detailed illustrated view of the heart of Knaresborough featuring historical imagery and local landmarks.
Speaking about the project, Helen Salmons said:
“I was honoured to be asked to create these maps for Knaresborough, and I hope they bring enjoyment to locals and visitors for many years to come.
“It’s been wonderful to capture everything I love about our town in one place (and I still discover more every time I go exploring!)
“I’m delighted that, thanks to Knaresborough Town Council, so many people will get to enjoy them too.”
The maps are available free of charge from Knaresborough Library, Knaresborough Castle & Courthouse Museum and the Knaresborough Heritage Centre.
According to the Town Council, the map aims to help people navigate the area and highlight points of interest in the town.
