Your Harrogate Radio celebrates third birthday

Today marks Your Harrogate's third birthday and we're celebrating three years of bringing 'proper local radio' to the Harrogate district.

Your Harrogate Radio celebrates third birthday Today marks Your Harrogate’s third birthday and we’re celebrating three years of ‘proper local radio’ in the Harrogate district. Your Harrogate initially launched as an online radio station on 1st March 2021, bringing listeners local news, a range of competitions and vouchers for days out in the area. And if you remember, our first ever song was ‘Here I Go Again’ by Whitesnake, played by Nick Hancock on our first ever breakfast show! Alongside Nick, our presenting team is made up of recognisable voices that know the Harrogate district inside out including Pete Egerton, Alex Cann, David Whittle, Ricky Durkin and Elisa Hilton. Your Harrogate was initially available online at yourharrogate.co.uk, on smart speakers and on our free app, but we were delighted to announce our expansion onto DAB digital radio in February 2022. We are passionate about delivering ‘proper local radio’ and sharing the news you care about, whether it’s big upcoming events, school closures on snow days or which roads are blocked by trees during storms. We’re fortunate enough to have covered huge events in the Harrogate area including the Great Yorkshire Show, The Great Knaresborough Bed Race, St Wilfrid’s Procession, the Stray Bonfire, the Knaresborough Tractor Run, Yorkshire Comic Con, Harrogate Beer Festival and so many more! Content Director and Breakfast Presenter Nick Hancock said:

“To be honest every day is a bit like a party at Your Harrogate! We absolutely love what we do and the whole team here take a great pride in sharing all the positive news around Harrogate. “I’d like to say a special thank you to all our brilliant advertisers and listeners! We could not deliver proper local radio without your support. “Now like all good three year olds we’re going to eat lots of cake, mess around and possibly have a nap later.”
Tune in to Your Harrogate online, on DAB and on your smart speaker for all the latest from the Harrogate district. And keep your eyes on our social media channels as we deliver some birthday cake throughout the day as part of our celebrations! Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here.
