A yellow weather warning for strong winds of over 50mph have caused disruption to events and venues in the Harrogate area.
Storm Darragh is set to hit the region today (Friday) with a warning in place from 3pm until 6am on Sunday morning.
And with Knaresborough Market already announcing it will not go ahead as planned, other venues are also being forced to close.
Here's your guide to events going ahead, changed or postponed in this area:
Harrogate
- Little Bird Artisan Market, Valley Gardens - Both Saturday and Sunday (7th and 8th) are cancelled.
- Ripley Market, Ripley Castle - The market planned for Sunday (8th December) will be moving inside the castle.
- RHS Garden Harlow Carr - Closed all day on Saturday and Glow is cancelled. On Sunday, the garden will be closed in the morning with a partial opening from 12pm.
- Horticap have closed the nature trail but remain open otherwise.
Knaresborough
- Knaresborough Christmas Market - Both Saturday and Sunday are cancelled. The market will take place on 14th and 15 December.
- Gracious Street Methodist Church - Going ahead as planned.
Ripon
- Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal will be closed all weekend due to the high winds forecast. This includes the Christmas events, Carols by Candlelight and on the hoof.
Wetherby
- Wetherby Market - going ahead as planned with lots of festivities inside the Town Hall.
Harewood
- Only the house, terrace cafe and courtyard cafe remain open.
Bedale
- Thorp Perrow Arboretum is closed on Saturday 7th December. The tearoom will remain open.
