Oversubscribed Great Knaresborough Bed Race draw to be held tonight A draw is set to be held this evening to determine the 92 teams that will compete in this year’s Great Knaresborough Bed Race. The event is oversubscribed for the first time since 2020, with 108 teams signing up to take part. But with only 92 slots available, a draw will be held to determine who will miss out this year. The draw, hosted by event organisers Knaresborough Lions, will be held at the WMC on Kirkgate from 7pm tonight (Wednesday). Spectators are welcome to attend, with Your Harrogate’s Pete Egerton set to help out. Team Coordinator Matt Walker said:
“We’ve had a great level of interest already this year. “People have reacted really positively to the theme of Great Inventions and there has also been a great reaction to the entry form moving online this year.”The Great Knaresborough Bed Race Race returns on Saturday 8th June. A fancy dress parade will start from the castle at 1pm and the race will start from Conyngham Hall at 3pm. Contact organisers lionbedrace@hotmail.co.uk with any queries ahead of the event.
