A young person has been arrested in Knaresborough after an anti-social behaviour incident lead to a police officer being assaulted.

The incident took place on Saturday evening (24th February) involving a large group of youths. The group were believed to be under the influence of alcohol. A police spokesperson said:
“Whilst Police Officers and PCSOs were dealing with this group and associated incidents a Police Officer was assaulted. “This led to a person being arrested and their mates being taken to their home addresses for the remainder of the night and will be spoken to about their behaviour.”Police already knew the identities of some of the group. Officers are, however, asking if anyone witnessed the incident or has their own footage to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting ref 12240034236.
