The Knaresborough Tractor Run is back on Sunday (9th March) and organisers are encouraging visitors to get out and show their support.
The annual run, which saw over 400 tractors last year, will again be fundraising for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Although the full route won’t be released until two days before the event, here are some of the best locations to watch the tractors, both old and new:
- 9AM - The Great Yorkshire Showground
- 9:15AM - Knaresborough High Street
- 9:50AM - Brearton
- 10:30AM - Burton Leonard
- 10:40AM - Markington - Village Hall Committee will be serving bacon sandwiches and refreshments from the hall to help raise funds
- 11:40AM - The Half Moon Pub at Fellbeck
- 11:50AM - Pateley Bridge High Street and then on the Nidderdale Showground
- 2:05PM - Greenhow
- 2:40PM - Low Green
- 3:15PM - Hampsthwaite
- 3:30PM - Birstwith
- 3:45PM - Ripley
- 4PM - Knaresborough High Street/York Place Car Park
The committee behind the annual event, are a non-profit organisation, registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC) and run by volunteers, all from an agricultural background.
To date, they have raised in excess of £130,000 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance who as charity, require over £19,000 everyday to keep the helicopters operational.
Regional fundraiser Clare Deacon loves the community coming together for the Knaresborough Tractor Run. She said:
“It’s a true family event. The children come and watch as well and the farming community get together which is so important.
"Everybody gets behind them - it really is something to be proud of!”
Organisers also stress that this is a charity run and is in no way politically driven; drivers and passengers all pay to be part of the procession and collection buckets will be out along the route, plus you can donate online too.
Your Harrogate will be out with the tractors and you can follow the day both on-air and online via our website and app.
