Tech company becomes first sponsor of new Harrogate College Campus

CEO of Techbuyer Europe, Steve Sexton, talking to Harrogate College students.

A technology company based in Hornbeam Park has become the first sponsor of a new college campus in Harrogate.

Techbuyer has agreed a sponsorship deal with Harrogate College for its new £22 million campus, which is currently under construction and expected to open in early 2027.

The company already works closely with the college through student visits, joint projects, guest talks and work placements.

As part of the sponsorship, one of the college’s digital rooms will feature Techbuyer branding, and representatives from the company will visit students twice a year.

Steve Sexton said the partnership reflects a long-term commitment to education and skills development.

“We’re incredibly proud to be the first business sponsor of the college’s new building; this reflects our long-term commitment to education and skills development in the area.

“Access to high-quality learning environments and current technology will help ensure students gain hands-on experience that mirrors the workplace.

“We believe the new building will become a hub for innovation and industry engagement and help create clear pathways from education into skilled employment.”

The new college building will include facilities such as a virtual reality studio, digital suites, a replica hospital ward, an advanced construction centre and a renewable energy training base.

Danny Wild said the partnership would help support students and the wider region.

“It is great to welcome one of our key partners and neighbours, Techbuyer, as the first sponsor of our new college building.

“The company provides so many fantastic opportunities for our students and we have already achieved some great things together.

“We look forward to further developing this very rewarding working relationship as we move forward into an exciting new chapter for both the college and the region.”

The college says businesses interested in becoming sponsors of the new campus can contact the organisation directly for further information.
