An 83-year-old woman from Ripon is set to take on an epic fundraising challenge for charity next week.
Next Friday (26th September) Ripon Rotary president Alys Allardyce will be taking on what she describes as her "biggest fundraising challenge yet" - the fastest zip wire in the world at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry in North Wales.
As part of the challenge, Alys has chosen to support Yorkshire Air Ambulance as her Charity of the Year.
Alongside several other fundraising initiatives, she has decided to take on the zip wire to support the cause.
Alys said:
“It is a huge challenge for me as I am absolutely scared of heights, but I have booked it and will do this.
“I should know better at my age, but I certainly won't do it ever again!”
Alys has raised £860 towards her £1,000 target at the time of publication.
Those wishing to support Alys’s fundraising efforts can do so via her sponsorship page: https://heyor.ca/Crf2sn.
