A luxury five-star hotel in Ripon has been named among the best in the world.
Grantley Hall has been included in La Liste’s World’s Best Hotels list for 2025, gaining a remarkable score of 98%.
The annual ranking of the best hotels is based on scores from guests, travel guides and expert reviews.
Just 17 hotels in the UK received a higher score, 12 of which are in London.

A spokesperson for Grantley Hall said:
“This recognition is especially meaningful as it is based on authentic guest reviews, trusted travel guides and expert opinions.
“It is a true reflection of the exceptional experiences we strive to create every day at Grantley Hall.
“We are proud to stand among the best hotels in the world.”
The score is created by an aggregation of more than 1,000 guide books from trusted publications, before being standardised into a score ranging from 0 to 100.
Each guidebook is giving a ‘trustworthiness index’ ranking from 0 based upon its reliability.
An average is then calculated before customer reviews are integrated, with a 10% weighting.
