Lightwater Valley Family Adventure Park has unveiled a new ride ahead of the Easter season.
The park near Ripon has launched its new ride, ‘Spin Bug’, for children 0.9m and over.
It’s been branded the “perfect first thrill ride for little explorers.”
A spokesperson for Lightwater Valley said:
“Hop aboard the cosy caterpillar as it wiggles, twists, and turns, gliding up and down a half-pipe track.
“Hold on tight and get ready to spin, giggle, and soar - the Spin Bug is here to bring big fun to little riders!”
The new ride has been launched in place of the former ‘Eagle’s Claw’ in a decision that has divided opinion.
However Lightwater Valley has revealed that, following guidance from the ride manufacturer, the height requirement would need to be increased to 1.4m.
The park said this would “no longer align with its target audience” as a family adventure park tailored towards children under 12.
A spokesperson said:
“We were sad to see the Eagle’s Claw leave the park, as it has been a popular attraction over the years.
“With the vast majority of our visitors no longer meeting the height requirement of 1.4m, we made the decision to remove the ride and focus on bringing in new attractions that better suit our core demographic.
“We are excited about the future of Lightwater Valley and look forward to introducing more family-friendly experiences that create lasting memories for our young adventurers.”
