Meadowside School is set to take part in the annual Knaresborough Bed Race again this year as it looks to raise vital funds to improve facilities for pupils.
The Knaresborough Bed Race, a long-standing tradition, sees teams race through the town while pushing decorated beds and attracts thousands of spectators.
The event will return on Saturday 13th June - and this year’s theme is ‘Swinging Sixties.’
Meadowside School will be represented by two teams in the event, joining schools, businesses and community groups from across the area.
Funds raised through the Bed Race will go towards enhancing the school’s outdoor learning and play provision.

Meadowside School is aiming to install new outdoor gym equipment, transforming an underused space into an inclusive area that encourages physical activity, wellbeing and social development.
Previous fundraising efforts have supported initiatives such as sensory resources, reading books, play equipment and outdoor clubs.
Sponsorship
Alongside the race, the school’s PTA is also planning a Golden Ticket fundraising event in April, of which they’re looking for a headline sponsor.
The Easter-themed activity will see a limited number of “golden tickets” hidden inside chocolate bars sold to families and the wider community, with prizes available to ticket holders.
Funds raised will support ongoing projects and resources at Meadowside School.

The Golden Ticket fundraiser is also seeking a headline sponsor, offering a local business the opportunity to support the school while gaining visibility across event materials and communications.
Local businesses are being invited to support Meadowside School through sponsorship opportunities.
Sponsorship packages include branding on team clothing and the parade bed, promotional banners at the school, mentions across social media and newsletters and inclusion in any media coverage linked to the event.
