A Harrogate hair salon is offering fresh hope to men with thinning hair with the launch of an exciting new service – the first of its kind in the town.
Last year, award-winning hairdresser Joseph Ferraro launched a specialist wig service for women affected by hair loss brought on by cancer treatment and a range of other conditions.
This has proved extremely popular with customers across Harrogate and beyond - and now the salon has extended their services to help men affected by receding hairlines and baldness.
Hairdresser Martina Stanton, a senior stylist at Joseph Ferraro Hair on Leeds Road, has been fully trained in the new Aderans men’s hair system, which is made in a similar way to a wig and when fitted, is fully bonded to a man’s head and stays in place for up to four weeks.
Following the initial appointment, clients return monthly for a back and sides hair cut, along with the system being removed, cleaned and reattached.
Martina said:
“It's not just women who suffer as a consequence of hair loss.
"Men can feel a huge lack of confidence when their hair starts to thin, so regaining hair is a huge confidence booster for them."
28-year-old Josh Britton, who started losing his hair when he was a teenager, said his life has been transformed since he started having regular hair system appointments in Harrogate.
Josh said:
“I started losing my hair when I was 19/20 and tried many hair products/shampoos/oils to combat this but nothing worked. I also tried hair fibres but it was a massive struggle to maintain this.
“When I was 21 I tried Laser Hair Therapy which was a big cost and didn’t work either. I didn’t feel good about my hair loss as I am only young and I wasn’t ready to go bald.
“Since I started having this hair system, it is great. It’s so durable, I feel confident that it will stay on my head. I’ve not had any problems and it is really transformational for me."
Stylist Martina said:
“Josh is a young man who was losing his hair prematurely and everything he was trying didn’t work.
"Most people do not know about Josh’s new hair system, and have no idea it is not his own hair, it is incredibly realistic."
