A fourth teacher has received a special 'end of term treat' after being nominated by her pupils and their parents.
Mrs Jenny Byers, a Year 3 and 4 teacher at Knaresborough St John’s Primary, had a special visit from Your Harrogate’s Nick Hancock this morning (Wednesday).
She is the latest recipient of a £50 Harrogate gift card and is the fourth of five teachers to receive the prize.
It follows a number of nominations in which Mrs Byers has been praised for her efforts and is “adored” by her class.
After receiving the surprise, a shocked Mrs Byers said:
“These children have been incredible this year. They’ve seen me through something more than tough.
“They come in every day, they’ve been kind to me, to each other and they’ve given everything.
“They are what this job is all about.”

Knaresborough St John Headteacher Alex Hope said:
"Jenny has had the toughest year imaginable and yet has continued to put the children first.
"I have worked as a headteacher for over 14 years and I have never met a teacher that generates the love and dedication that Jenny achieves from her class and the parents.
"She is a credit to our school, her family and to Knaresborough and it meant so much that she was given the treat."
Mrs Byers is the fourth of five winners, with one more member of teaching staff set for a special surprise this week.
