The organisers of Knaresborough Cricket Club’s Duck Race have decided to move the event online due to the current weather conditions across the area.
The event was due to take place this Sunday (12th January) but will now be held virtually.
People who wish to spectate are invited to Knaresborough Cricket Club from 2:30pm. The bar will be open.
Despite their best efforts to hold the event, Andrew Ward, one of the organisers, admitted the weather has beaten them.
He said:
“Walking around town today most paths are full of ice and treacherous, this includes large parts of Waterside.
“Temperatures are forecast to be well in to freezing until Sunday.
“After speaking to Marigolds and other partners we have little option but to cancel on safety grounds.
“Thanks to all that have helped to try and get this event on.”
