The Chartered Institute of Horticulture (CIH) is hosting the North's first ever GROW Careers Horticultural Conference this month.
Following on from successful GROW events in Scotland, the day is intended to draw together passionate horticulturists and allied professions from across the region to network.
It will take place at Harewood House on Friday 24th May.
The event will include inspirational speakers, practical workshops and demonstrations, the chance to meet employers, industry bodies and trade partners and a tour of Harewood’s historic gardens.
Jason Daff, CIH Secretary said:
"Horticulture is an exciting and dynamic industry and we are excited to showcase the range of opportunities available.
“This is a great way draw on the wealth of horticultural knowledge we have in the region to give the next generation of growers, gardeners, horticultural scientists, garden designers, landscapers, arborists and turf specialists a huge boost in their career path.”
Chair of the Northern Branch of the Chartered Institute Clive Parker added:
"I remember the colleagues who gave me a steer when I started in the horticultural industry, so it is a huge honour to be able to forward the favour to the people who will be continuing our work in the industry.
“We have a long and proud history of outstanding horticulture in the North, and we can't wait to hear from speakers including Matthew Wilson, Katie Rushworth and Katy Merrington”.
