England football star Rachel Daly has officially been presented with her MBE today, recognising her outstanding achievements in the sport.
The honour, which was first announced in June as part of the King’s Birthday Honours list, was awarded today (Tuesday) for Rachel's contribution to football and her role in inspiring the next generation of players.
Rachel grew up in Harrogate and attended Rossett School, beginning her football journey with Killinghall Nomads before moving on to Leeds United’s youth set-up.
She was part of the England squad that won the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 and has since enjoyed a prolific domestic career.
Sharing photos on Instagram, Rachel said:
“A really proud day for me and my family. It’s an absolute honour to receive my MBE.”
The Aston Villa forward, who retired from international duty earlier this year, remains one of Harrogate’s most celebrated sporting figures.
