A new Yorkshire edition of Monopoly is now available to buy online - and one Harrogate venue has made the cut.
‘Harrogate Baths’ has been included on the green section of the board, usually occupied by Bond Street, Oxford Street and Regent Street on the standard edition of the game.
‘Yorkshire-opoly’, created by The Yorkshire Print Company, pokes fun of Yorkshire phrases, and has replaced ‘go to jail’ with ‘go to Rotherham.’
Other well-known Yorkshire landmarks on the board include York Minster, Doncaster Races and Scarborough Fun Fair.
A spokesperson for The Yorkshire Print Company said:
“Our Yorkshire Monopoly-style print celebrates the heart of God's own country with its famous landmarks and attractions.
“Designed with pure Yorkshire love, it's a reyt nice addition to any Yorkshire lover's home.”
In true Yorkshire style, players are branded ‘a numpty’ for ending up in jail, whilst the banker has been replaced by a ‘gaffer.’
One customer said:
“I love this! I bought it for a Christmas gift and it’s super quirky and unique.“
Other variations of the game include Leeds-opoly, Sheff-opoly and Hull-opoly.
