A talented Harrogate teenager has signed a prestigious football scholarship at Leeds United.
St John Fisher pupil Louie Philpott, who is in year 11, has spent six years in the club’s academy.
He has starred in the Leeds United Under 16's and recently came on as a substitute for the Under 18’s in their 3-3 draw with Newcastle United.
And as a result of his “hard work and dedication”, the defender has penned a scholarship deal with the Lillywhites.
A spokesperson for St John Fisher said:
“Everyone at St John Fisher wishes him all the very best in his future career.”
The signing adds to a long list of Harrogate teenagers who have an affiliation with this year’s Championship winners.
Louie will hope to follow in the footsteps of St Aidan’s pupils and brothers Harry and Archie Gray, who have broken into the Leeds United first team in recent years.
