Two of Harrogate’s most exciting young swimmers will be competing in the British Swimming Championships this week.
Harrogate swimming duo set to compete in British Championships Two of Harrogate’s most exciting young swimmers will be competing in the British Swimming Championships this week. Lois Child and Lily Stansfield, key members of Harrogate District Swimming Club, will be heading to compete at the Aquatics Centre in London. The pair are among just a handful of 14-year-olds who have qualified for the British Swimming Championships, which run from 2nd until 7th April. Lois will be swimming in the 200m Fly, 400m IM, 100m Fly and 200m IM with Lily also swimming the 100m Fly. Club Representative Brian Charlton said:
“They will be rubbing shoulders with the very best British swimmers who will be looking to book their Olympic places for Team GB! “A huge well done to Lois, Lily and also to Sophie Murray who also qualified for the 100m Fly but is unfortunately unable to swim. “We’re all very proud of you and hope you enjoy the experience. “Swim fast and have a great time!”The event will be streamed on both BBC and Channel 4.
