McDonald’s restaurant in Harrogate has reopened following a refurbishment aimed at improving the customer experience..
The restaurant, operated by local franchisee Tom Atherton, has undergone a redesign as part of McDonald's ‘Convenience of the Future’ programme.
The changes include a new layout and updated technology, with the dining area redesigned to create a more open and modern space.
Ordering kiosks have been reconfigured, and digital displays installed throughout the restaurant.
A reopening event was attended by Chris Aldred and Jason Maxwell, who joined staff for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Councillor Aldred said:
“It’s great to see McDonald’s reopening its doors here in Harrogate.
"Our town thrives when businesses both large and small choose to invest in our community.
“This refurbishment not only brings a familiar favourite back to residents and visitors but also supports local jobs and contributes to a vibrant, welcoming town centre.
"I’m pleased to see businesses showing confidence in Harrogate’s future, and I look forward to the positive impact this reopening will have on the area.”
Tom Atherton said the investment would benefit both customers and staff.
“I’m proud to reinvest in our Harrogate restaurant - the dining area is now more contemporary, and we now have separate facilities for our dine-in customers and our couriers leading to a better experience for everyone.
“It’s exciting to see the fresh new look and feel of our Harrogate restaurant and I’m confident the changes will not only benefit our customers but also our restaurant team as these will help make their jobs a little easier.”
The refurbishment also includes improvements to staff areas, as well as changes to how orders are handled, with dedicated spaces for different ordering methods including in-store, drive-thru and delivery.
To mark the reopening, the restaurant is planning a day of activities on 21st March, including games and face painting for families.
