Two writers and culinary food guides from Harrogate have published a new book about French cuisine.
Sisters Kay Atkinson and Jill Laurillard, who run Food Tours in Harrogate and Ripon, have launched "French Food Adventures: Two Yorkshire Sisters Discover French Cuisine."
The pair are experienced travellers, food tour leaders, and supporters of discovering the globe through its gastronomic offerings.
This new travelogue takes readers on a tour of some of the best gourmet regions of France by fusing culinary exploration with a journey of sisterhood.

In "French Food Adventures," Kay and her sister Jill, who had lived apart for decades, reunite on a delightful trip across France.
Their journey turns into a colourful culinary exploration of France, giving readers a close-up view of the nation's culinary customs.
In addition to serving as a helpful reference for French cooking, the book also pays homage to Kay and Jill's late parents, whose modest holiday eating habits stand in stark contrast to the abundant flavours the sisters enjoyed in France.
Author Kay Atkinson said:
“With delicious recipes, useful travel advice, and personal stories tucked into each chapter, this book is the perfect travel partner for both foodies and adventurers.
“The stories of sisterly bonding, the rich descriptions of local French cuisine, and the insightful observations on the ways in which food can bind us to one another and to our history will delight readers.
“”French Food Adventures" is sure to please and inspire readers of all stripes, be they seasoned foodies, adventurers, or those who treasure family reunions.”
A book launch event is being held at Starlings Cafe in Harrogate on Wednesday 23rd October, from 6:30pm.
Guests are invited to register free for the event here.
