Harrogate BID has announced a new addition to the Harrogate Dog Show this year – an official pet-themed market.
Traders from both local and surrounding areas will host stalls, offering a varied range of products, advice and services all to help, support and benefit your pets.
The market, set to be held on Cambridge Street on Saturday 12th April - the day of the Dog Show, will offer a new experience for residents, visitors and business owners in Harrogate town centre.
Matthew Chapman, Harrogate BID Chief Executive, said:
“As the BID, we’re always looking to develop and enhance the events we deliver – and this new market will do exactly that for our Dog Show.
“We’re in touch with a top variety of traders who can’t wait to show off their products on the day.
“Feedback from local businesses suggested that the introduction of a pets market would be great for the Dog Show, so we’re thrilled to be able to act on this."
He added:
“Town and city centres are progressively becoming more mixed use and experiential and we feel the first ever pets themed market alongside our third Dog Show will promote our town as just that.
“We can’t wait to bring back this excellent event to our town centre and look forward to seeing all of you and your furry friends for some fantastic fun.”
The Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen will return as the star judge for this year’s Harrogate Dog Show, offering her expertise on seven categories including ‘Cutest Puppy’, ‘Best Trick’, ‘Dog the Judge Would Most Like to Take Home’ and the overall ‘Best in Show’.
Categories will be open from 10am and available on a first come, first served basis. But, for those that don’t fancy featuring in the classes, the Mini Dog Park will be open with an obstacle course for up to 15 dogs at a time.
If you’d like to get involved with the pets market, or if you have any questions, email the Harrogate BID team on info@harrogatebid.co.uk
