Harrogate-born comedian Maisie Adam is set to return to the town to perform as part of Harrogate Theatre's Comedy Festival.
Harrogate comedian Maisie Adam to return to hometown for comedy festival Harrogate-born comedian Maisie Adam is one of a number of big names set to perform as part of Harrogate Theatre’s upcoming Comedy Festival. The event, now in its 14th year, will start next week and takes place across various locations around the town. And Maisie Adam, who grew up in Pannal, will be performing after becoming a household name across TV comedy shows including 8 Out of 10 Cats, Mock the Week, QI and Have I Got News for You. As a youngster, the 29-year-old attended St Aidan's CE High School where she became Head Girl before pursuing her comedy career. [caption id="attachment_79746" align="aligncenter" width="487"] Harrogate-born Comedian Maisie Adam.[/caption] Alongside Maisie will be other well-known comedy acts including Miriam Margolyes, Adrian Edmondson, John Robins, Ross Noble and Bridget Christie. Opening the festival is Yippee Ki Yay, a Die Hard parody, coming straight from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with brilliant reviews. The festival will also include Arthur Smith telling hilarious tales from his spectacular career and Hancock’s Half Hour: The Lost Episodes. Festival programmer Marcus Romer said:
“It has been an absolute pleasure to put together all these funny and brilliant people! “From the hilariously cheeky Miriam Margolyes to the fab Maisie Adam and Jon Richardson, alongside newcomers to Harrogate - the riotous Scummy Mummies and the off the wall - literally - Yippee Ki Yay Die Hard retelling! “Alongside favourites like Arthur Smith, Jimeoin and Ross Noble will really make this 14th Harrogate Comedy Festival one to truly remember - it will be guffawfully brilliant!”The Hyena Comedy Club is also coming back, featuring a line up of brilliant acts that are just as daft and laugh-out-loud funny as ever.
