Harrogate Choral Society, conducted by David Lawrence, are bringing Haydn's Creation to Soothill Hall, Asvhille College, on Saturday 21st March, 3pm.
The choir will be accompanied by The National Festival Orchestra for this latest performance.
The Creation is considered by many to be Haydn’s masterpiece composition, depicting and celebrating the creation of the world as told in the book of Genesis.
The work features three soloists who sing the parts of the three angels Gabriel, Uriel and Raphael in parts I and II. In part III Adam and Eve appear in the garden of Eden.
Harrogate Choral Society is a high standard, mixed voice, open age choir, that have been performing concerts in the Harrogate area since as early as 1881.
They are open to new members with or without previous singing experience, who want to perform with a leading choir.

Musical Director, David Lawrence, was appointed in autumn 2021, and speaks very highly of the group:
"They are a very wonderful choir, by any standard.
"They take their musical quality very seriously and the membership is strong".
Speaking about this latest concert, David is very excited to perform this piece of music:
"Haydn's creation is probably one of the most popular choral oratorios ever.
"If you know it, you know it, and if you don't, please come along and you will jump out of your seat when that word 'light' is sung for the first time".
