Harrogate Theatre's annual pantomime has been nominated for a national award, recognising the writing behind the popular festive production.
The theatre has been shortlisted at the 2026 Great British Pantomime Awards in the Best Script category for writer David Bown. The awards celebrate pantomime productions from across the UK and recognise achievements in performance, writing, direction and technical theatre. A spokesperson said: “A huge congratulations to David and to the entire Harrogate Theatre team whose creativity, hard work and passion help bring our magical pantomime to life each year. “We’re incredibly proud of everyone involved and grateful to our wonderful audiences for their continued support.” Harrogate Theatre’s Christmas pantomime is a long-standing festive tradition in the town, attracting thousands of visitors each year with its mix of comedy, music and audience participation. Winners of the Great British Pantomime Awards 2026 are expected to be announced later this year.
