Harrogate Cat Rescue "bursting at the seams" and unable to take new rescue cats Harrogate Cat Rescue has launched an urgent appeal for donations after revealing it cannot currently take on any new rescue cats or kittens. The charity is “bursting at the seams” with cats and currently has 84 kittens in its care - 44 of which still need neutering and vaccinating. The Cat Rescue service launched an urgent appeal via social media after revealing it's current situation is "critical." A spokesperson said:
“A rescue relies entirely on adoption fees and financial donations to cover the costs of vets bills, but recently, adoptions have been extremely slow. “The majority of our adoption requests are for young kittens, however, due to a lack of enquiries, a lot of the kittens (especially the black and white ones) are growing up in care and becoming of an age that is not popular, taking up essential foster space needed to help those cats and kittens that desperately need it and using funds allocated for vets bills for their care.”Over the last four years, the charity has been able to give homes to over 800 cats and kittens. Thanks to donations, Harrogate Car Rescue has also been able to nurse very ill rescues back to full health. But it's currently in need of crucial funds. The spokesperson added:
“What we are appealing for today is your regular financial support. “You could join a family of cat lover contributors whose donations – however small, all become part of our effort to save more cats and kittens. “Small donations all add up and more of those will hopefully ensure we are never in this situation again.”Anyone looking to contribute should do so via PayPal here or by visiting the Harrogate Pet Rescue social media channels for bank details.
