Two Harrogate businesses have achieved their goal of donating one tonne of items to local foodbanks.
Business services provider Supplies Web, alongside estate agent Verity Frearson, have donated food, toiletries and pet food to people in need.
The pair teamed up 18 months ago and pledged to accumulate one tonne of items which have since been donated to Harrogate Foodbank and other worthwhile causes.
Paul Graves, Director of Supplies Web, said:
“Over the last 18 months, we’ve collected, contributed and donated over One Tonne of food, to the local food bank, whilst also volunteering to help at the food banks drop in centres – helping many local people eat, refresh and feed their pets!
“We’re extremely proud of this achievement, helping lots of local people, in difficult times.”
Paul contacted Matthew Stamford, Director at Verity Frearson after seeing the estate agents 100 Days of Giving initiative in 2022 to celebrate their 100th birthday.
Speaking at the start of the campaign, Paul said:
"We knew that Verity Frearson were a community minded company after seeing their incredible 100 Days of Giving campaign.
"They are the perfect Harrogate based company to help us achieve our goal.”
Matthew Stamford said:
"As a business, we have made ongoing commitment to give back to the local community and to help the people who need the most support.
"With people struggling financially, food banks are playing a more important role than ever.”
