A former Manchester United coach who has worked with some of the world’s best footballers is hosting a summer school near Harrogate.
Mike Phelan, who was the Assistant Manager to Sir Alex Ferguson from 2018-2022, has partnered with Queen Ethelburga’s for the exciting week-long event in July.
The week will run from Tuesday 1st until Tuesday 8th July - and is designed for students aged 10 to 17 “who are serious about beginning a career in sports.”
Students must already be part of a football team, and the course is split into Junior (10 to 13) and Senior (14 to 17) camps.

Mike has worked with some of the most iconic footballers in Manchester United history, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.
Since leaving United, he was briefly the assistant head coach at Plymouth Argyle and now runs Mike Phelan Coaching for youngsters.
He has a mantle full of trophies, including six Premier League titles, a Champions League win, an FA Cup win, a Football League Cup win, a Charity Shield, and a World Cup Trophy.

Mike Phelan’s summer Football Camp is hosted at Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate, an independent day and boarding school located between Harrogate and York.
The school boasts world-class sports facilities, regularly used by Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester City.
Camp participants will have access to a state-of-the-art gym, including a strength and conditioning suite, ice baths, and water treadmills, as well as astroturf and grass pitches, sports science suites, and an on-site medical centre.
When they’re not training, students can unwind at the Coffee Shop or enjoy downtime at the activity centre, which features a cinema, and a gaming suite equipped with the latest consoles.
A spokesperson said:
“This is more than just a football camp — it's an immersive sports experience designed to inspire and develop the next generation of athletes.”
