Emmerdale cast chat to Your Harrogate ahead of television awards Famous faces from the cast of Emmerdale have been chatting to Your Harrogate ahead of the National Television Awards next week. The Yorkshire soap has three nominations in this year’s awards which will be shown live on ITV1 on Tuesday (5th September).
Last year it won Best Serial Drama and is nominated for the award again.
Plus, on the back of his portrayal of Paddy Kirk’s mental health storyline, Dominic Brunt is shortlisted for best Serial Drama Performance.
It's the first time in Dominic’s 26 years of being on Emmerdale that he has been nominated for an NTA.
He told Your Harrogate's David Whittle:"It just proves that you can be mediocre but still have longevity! I’m very honoured but quite nervous about it… "I do quite like the spectacle of sitting in the middle of people off the TV and spotting people and getting star struck."
Soap newcomer Lewis Cope, who plays Nicky Milligan, has been nominated in the Rising Star category.
He said:"I’m just absolutely over the moon, I just can’t believe it! I haven’t been in the show that long and just to be recognised is lovely."
You can hear the full interviews on David’s show on Your Harrogate from midday on Saturday (2nd September).
