Swinton Estate near Ripon is inviting visitors to 'Luminescence' later this year - its inaugural winter light trail.
The event, set to launch in November, will be set amidst the lakes and woodland garden of the Swinton Park Hotel near Masham.
The trail will start on Thursday 6th November and run throughout the winter months to the end of February 2026.
An extensive light installation will be held along the woodland landscape and lakeside paths.
After a laser-lit welcome at the Walled Garden Gates, guests can marvel at the twinkling tableaux around the mile-long trail - all inspired by the spellbinding beauty of Mother Nature.
Felicity Cunliffe-Lister said:
“We are unveiling the Luminescence – A Winter Light Trail as an immersive experience that we hope will captivate all the family.
“At this truly magical time of year, the Swinton Estate is a magnificent setting to bring people together and to celebrate the beauty of nature.
“Luminescence is a sensory journey through light, landscape and imagination and we’re thrilled to share it with our guests from early November and into the heart of wintertime.”
For anyone looking to warm up with a taste of Yorkshire's finest fare, food and drinks - which will include hot chocolate and marshmallows – will be available halfway around the trail.
The Terrace Bar & Restaurant will also be serving an extended selection of light meals and snacks for guests to enjoy both before and after their visit.
Swinton Estate
Welcoming more than 45,000 annual visitors, the 20,000-acre Swinton Estate is the destination to stay, play, dine and rediscover wellness on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.
With over 7,000 acres of moorland and 1,700 acres of woodland, Felicity Cunliffe-Lister plays a leading role in the management and development of the Swinton Estate alongside her husband, Mark Cunliffe-Lister, the 4th Earl of Swinton.
Since 2001, they have transformed Swinton Park into a luxury hotel and have spearheaded several initiatives on the estate including the Swinton Cookery School, Swinton Birds of Prey and the Swinton Country Club & Spa.
The very first night of Swinton’s new winter light trail - on Thursday 6th November - will coincide with Great British Game Week, a celebration of country living and the people, partners and knowledge that make the Swinton Estate such a special place.
